Alumni/Senior Lunch
June 5, 2008
Another first for the Lab School Alumni Association! On Thursday, June 5, the LSAA honored the 2008 Senior Class by welcoming them into the Alumni Association with an outdoor lunch. Seniors, LSAA steering committee members and High School staff enjoyed this lunch which was catered by 2007 Alumni Awardee, Andre Cavallaro, ’98. Andre and his mother/business partner, Allison are opening a brand new grocery and catering business call sub*urban trading co. which is located in Kensington, Maryland. When Andre heard about this lunch, he enthusiastically offered to cater it for the Seniors and his Alumni Association. Jon Ford, ’91, Co-chair of the LSAA steering committee, along with Kevin Bucher ’91, Co-chair, Leah Gambal ‘87, and Joe Green ’97, members, officially welcomed this graduating class and Jessica Orloff was chosen as class agent representing her class to the LSAA. Each Senior received a T shirt, lapel pin and flash drive with the LSAA logo as gifts from the LSAA. Everyone had a wonderful time and the event was a huge success.
Life After Lab
January 4, 2008
We welcomed the new year with an annual alumni event coordinated by Mrs. Trudy Fleisher, College Counselor. On January 4, 2008 approximately 50 alumni from the classes of 2001-2007 reunited at Lab to hear 6 recent alumni answer questions in a panel discussion forum relating to college life after Lab. The panel included: Jack Feeley (’07), Will Sutton (’07), Ashley Cross (’06), Tim Danos (’06), Meegan Kavanaugh (’06), and Max Dickens (’06). These graduates openly shared their college experiences with their audience which included both staff and Lab juniors and seniors. The discussion ran from 2:00pm to 3:00pm, followed by a reception and refreshments with faculty and staff from 3:00pm to 4:00pm. The afternoon ended with a varsity basketball game between Lab School and Washington Waldorf. It was wonderful to see old friends.
