Athletics
The Lab School of Baltimore offers many sports for students to participate in.
For middle school we offer cross country in the fall, basketball and cheerleading in the winter, and in the spring track and field. We are a part of the Baltimore Athletic Conference, a conference for independent schools. At our high school level we offer all the same sports. New to this year the high school will have a conference of its own, the Chesapeake Athletic Conference.
Although all sports are different we practice the same common goals: working on building confidence as well as self esteem, making new friends, learning new skills, and most importantly having fun. Set practices for all sports happen after school and finished before 5:30pm.

The Baltimore Lab Swim Team
All students who can swim 25 yards are invited to join the Baltimore Dragon Swim Team. Each member of the team is valued, encouraged and rewarded for their different abilities to swim. During the school day, each lower school class has swimming for a total of 6 weeks, one day week. Interested upper school students may sign up to swim, help younger students or lifeguard with Mrs. Child.
Regardless of age or experience, all students are encouraged to practice at their individual community pools. Teenagers can swim, or they can learn to teach younger children to swim, become lifeguards, help coach and get jobs. There is actually a shortage of instructors and guards in the state of Maryland!
Swim Meets begin in November. To celebrate our achievements, we go out for pizza after every meet!
**All swim meets are held at The Lab School of Washington!**
