Bring Lab School Methods to Your School

Over the years Founder and Director Sally Smith has been approached repeatedly with requests for assistance in using the methods that she developed to teach students with learning disabilities and ADHD in their own settings. The requests have come from teachers and leaders at public, independent and charter schools all over the country, and even all over the world. Siblings of our students, in all types of more traditional schools, have often been intrigued and envious of what their brothers and sisters were experiencing at Lab.

In 2002 Lab decided to offer a more formal way to help other teachers and school leaders adopt the pioneering methods of teaching students with learning disablities and ADHD that Sally Smith and the Lab School faculty have developed over the past 40 years.

The Lab School offers an Academic Club Teaching Service (ACTS) which introduces a school or program to Academic Clubs, the core of the Lab School Methodology. Academic Clubs have been successfully added to an existing school or afterschool program

For a more comprehensive approach, Sally Smith and the Staff of The Lab School of Washington have successfully replicated The Lab School Methodology, including the Academic Clubs and the highly individualized arts based curriculum at Baltimore Lab School and at the Academy in Manayunk in Philadelphia.
