Highlighting Lab's Newest Alums - Knox West '23
Knox West, the Class of 2023’s Graduation Speaker, is attending Northwestern University to study Political Science and Economics. Knox has always been fascinated by the structure of government, policy, and debate. On our campus, that fascination was channeled into an appreciation for literature that examines how governments use censorship, fear and manipulation to control the masses; enrollment in our Rhetoric class; and an analysis of what leads to a nation’s economic success. Beyond our campus, that fascination led him to support a political campaign in Wisconsin, a get-out-the-vote effort through The Hispanic Institute in Georgia, and an internship in Senator Sherrod Brown’s office. In his Graduation speech, Knox quoted Robert Fitzgerald Kennedy’s “Ripple of Hope” speech, and Lab knows Knox will continue to be someone who “stands up for an ideal, or acts to improve a lot of others, or strikes out against injustice.”
