Understanding World Religions: The Lab School’s first virtual museum experience!
Who knew a virtual museum exhibit could be so engaging?
This year’s Museum Club has created the first ever virtual museum exhibit! The main focus of our study and this exhibit is centered on the history, core beliefs, rituals, traditions and practices of major religions observed around the world: Judaism, Christianity, Islam, Buddhism and Hinduism.
The curators began this journey of creating this exhibit on world religions working collaboratively in our museum laboratory space at Lab. Then, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we had to make a swift transition to work independently in our own homes. The curators creatively used materials they had at home to create these one-of-a-kind artifacts to best tell the story of these different religions.
For the past many years, the curators have become the live docents of their exhibition showing off the artifacts, text, and images to help our museum visitors learn about different religions. This year, we have built a virtual museum exhibit for you to explore. As you "walk through" our museum exhibit, we hope that you learn something new and are able to better appreciate the many perspectives surrounding traditions, customs, and faith.
